  3. Kinetic Energy If an object is moving, it has kinetic energy Like cash – easy to use up Ek = ½ mv2 Units: kg.m2/s2 = kg.m/s2.m = N.m Joules (J) Formula is derived on pg 223 of textbook
  4. The Law of Conservation of Energy Energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only transferred from one form to another without any loss The total energy of any closed system always remains the same
