It is one of the visitors' mainattraction. The palace interior is open to public for a charge of 13 Euro, including audio guide. The palace features a beautiful park, where a mausoleum, a pavilion and the Bevedere (home to a porcelain museum) are located. The park is a perfect place for family picnics and outdoor activities. Other highlights include Gallery of Romanticism, Grand Courtyard, historic apartments, and Museum of Prehistory.

It has a distinctive globe shape at the top, which features a restaurant and a viewing platform. The restaurant, which is located above the visitor’s platform, revolves twice every hour and gives a good view of the city.

It features over 70 stores, many restaurants, pubs, and five cinemas. The mall has a heliport attraction on its roof where visitors can take a 7-minute simulated flight to view Berlin city. Tourists can get beautiful view of the city through “Berlin Windows” on the 20th floor. It also features a five-star Hotel Palace and “Mercedes Star” landmark on the building's top roof. It opens 24 hours a day and shops typically open from 10pm to 8am.

  9. Alexanderplatz Address: Alexanderplatz, Berlin  Transportation: Subway: U2 U5 U8 S3 S5 S7 S9 Alexanderplatz is a historic public square close to the Fernsehturm (TV tower). It consists of two monuments, the Weltzeithur (World Time Clock) and the Fountain of International Friendship. It's also the transport hub of Mitte, S-bahn and U-Bahn stations. The square features a large mall, hosting about 180 stores. It is surrounded by many historic buildings such as Rotes Rathaus (Red City Hall) and PolastderRepublik (East German Parliament Building). The site is surrounded by hotels and commercial buildings.

  10. Reichstag Address: PlatzderRepublik 1 Berlin-Tiergarten11011 Contact: 227 32 152 & www.bundestag.d Hours: 8-12am (last entry10pm) The Reichstag is the official seat of the German Parliament. Along with a rich history and a great cultural significance to Berlin, the Reichstag features a giant glass dome which allows for a 360 degree view of Berlin as well as an inside view of the legislature. Free guided tours are offered upon request although they do have to be arranged in advance.

Brandenburger Tor Address: Intersection of Unter den Linden & Ebertstraße (west of the PariserPlatz) Not only one of Berlin’s major monuments, it is considered to be one of the most popular and culturally significant monuments in Europe. Commissioned by King Frederick William II as a sign of peace after German unification, it is the only surviving one in a series of gates that were constructed. No cost as it’s a public monument and can be viewed at any time.

Almost completely destroyed during WWII, it has been completely rebuilt and refurbished. Today it is the most well known and most visited zoo in Germany and features some 14,000 animals from over 1,400 different species.

WebsiteTheAquadom and Sealife centre is the world’s biggest cylindrical aquarium that has aquatic exhibits ranging from rivers to seas to oceans. The new Drachenschloss exhibit features moray eels, to the Chinese water dragon, and other living dragons.

The bulk of collection embraces European instruments from the 16th to 19th century including some very rare renaissance and early baroque instruments. Along with the extensive collection of instruments the museum features a library of some 40,000 books on instruments from original designs of traditional instruments to modern concepts in sound production.

Conducted by Simon Rattle, the orchestra presents works from almost all time periods and styles and features guest soloists regularly for a very diverse and lively program. The members of the orchestra also break off into a large variety of chamber ensembles too perform smaller scale works. All in all this will be a definite must for anyone interested in high calibre performances of western art music spanning from the early ages to modern works.

  25. Transportation Taxi U-Bahn Double Decker Bus There are many types of transportation available in Berlin. Taxis are availablein Berlin, it would cost about 3 Euro for a 2-kilometer ride. People can travel between U-Bahn, bus, and Tram with a single journey ticket (just over 2 Euro). An unlimited day pass costs 6 Euro and a 7-day pass is 26 Euro. U-Bahn and S-Bahn operate from 5 to 1 am on weekdays, and all night on the weekend. Yellow Double decker buses are available throughout day and night. There are also ferries available for trips through small lakes. Last option for transportation is the Welcome Card, it includes transportation across all networks and entry or discount for tourist and cultural attractions. 2-day and 3-day pass are available, costing 16 and 21 Euro respectively.
