Prisms

Prisms. By J.D.Weinrich. What is a prism?. A prism is a 3D polyhedron with depth, width and height. It has faces, edges and vertices. e.g. a cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. Octagonal Prism. An octagonal prism is a prism with: 10 faces 24 sides 16 vertices. Triangular Prism.

  2. What is a prism? • A prism is a 3D polyhedron with depth, width and height. It has faces, edges and vertices. • e.g. a cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices.

  3. Octagonal Prism An octagonal prism is a prism with: • 10 faces • 24 sides • 16 vertices

  4. Triangular Prism A triangular prism has • 5 faces • 9 edges • 6 vertices It can be used to make white light into rainbow if made from the right substance.

  5. Rectangular Prism A rectangular prism has the same amount of faces, edges and vertices. • 6 faces • 12 edges • 8 vertices
