Noble Gas Electron Configuration 10/21/13 • The noble gas electron configuration of an element starts with the noble gas that comes before the element in brackets and then continues from there to the element. ex:For the element Ca, that would be [Ar]4s2 • The valence electrons are the highest level electrons. For example, if the configuration is [Kr]5s24d105p4 , the valence electrons are 5s25p4 because shell 5 is higher than shell 4. Unit 1 • Investigation III
