  2. ΓΙΑΤΡΟΙ ΤΟΥ ΚΟΣΜΟΥ Medecins du Monde’s logowas designed in November 1987 by Richard Rossin. Τhe dove in the center symbolizes international peace and medical care. The branch represents the five continents and the blue color represents their natural connections, which are the sky and the sea. The dove symbolically transcends the borders of all countries and it is drawn in a circle,which evokes our planet. Medecins du Monde’s logo

  3. ΓΙΑΤΡΟΙ ΤΟΥ ΚΟΣΜΟΥ MdM-Greece was founded in Greece in 1990 with the aim of providing humanitarian aid to all the vulnerable populations in Greece as well as all over the world. MdM-Greece is part of the International MdM Network, which includes 14 departments (Argentina, Germany, Belgium, Canada, Spain, France, Greece, Italy,Japan, Netherlands, Portugal,United Kingdom,Sweden,Switzerland)

  4. ΓΙΑΤΡΟΙ ΤΟΥ ΚΟΣΜΟΥ MdM’s primary mission is to provide medical care. The volunteers of the Organization are committed to offer their help to all the vulnerable populations all over the world, including Greece, to: • The victims of natural disasters, famines, diseases • The victims of armed conflicts, political violence • Refugees Displaced persons Minorities Street children • Drug users • People with no access to health care

  7. Open Polyclinic Aim:Médecins du Monde Greece aim to improve the access to the health care of particularly marginalized population groups of the immigrants in Greece by providing free medical health care at first level and social services in urban centres

  8. Open Polyclinic Our Project Provision of free Medical, Pharmaceutical and Psychosocial care Target Group People without access to the National Health care System

  9. Open Polyclinic Activities are being implemented by medical and paramedical teams composed of volunteer specialised doctors, nurses, social workers and psychologists.

  10. Open Polyclinic During the last 12 years of the program implementation, more than 150.000 patients have received medical and pharmaceutical support Approximately 14.000 patients only in 2008.

  11. Open Polyclinic Importance: The open Polyclinics provide a wide range of services ranging from medical and psychological support to advocacy concerning human rights.

  14. Psychosocial Department Goal: ●Psychological and social support to the socially vulnerable populations. Description: ●Assessment the needs ● Offer of short term psychological and social support or referralto other Organizations.

  15. Psychosocial Department About us: ●Psychologists/Counsellors ●Social Workers ●Supervision (Two hour weekly, compulsory for all participants) ● Presentations and participation to seminars and conferences

MdM Greece • Mobilizes partners for solidarity actions in the area of health • Denounces with the testimonials it gathers, infringements on human rights and in particular obstacles to health care • Campaigns to lay the groundwork for the values of humanitarian medicine in accordance with an ethics of responsibility
