  2. What is Meditation? • Dictionary.com defines meditation as… • The act of meditating • Continued or extended thought; reflection; contemplation. Meditation is the act of centering ones mind to have mental clarity, silence, and complete focus while having a strong mind-body connection.

  3. What types of Meditation Are There? Mindfulness(Vipassana)- focusing on the present moment and letting what ever thought come to your mind come. Zazen- A seated meditation done for long periods of time. Transcendental Meditation- Blocking sounds and thoughts out of your mind and coming to complete mental focus and silence of thought. Kundalini- A deep breath meditation where you try to direct your flow of energy through the energy center of the body to the top of the head. Qi gong - Meditation that uses the breath to circulate energy through the organs and energy centers of the body. Ect…- There are many other forms of meditation that branch off of these.

What is meditation use for? • It is use to… • Relieve stress and anxiety • Reduce depression • Boosting immune function • Increasing measures of well being( happiness, joy, ect…) • Bringing clarity of thought • Increase brain function and cognition • Helping cancer patients relieve fatigue symptoms of chemotherapy • Ect…

Meditation Recommendations • Anyone who is suffering from daily • Stress • Anxiety • Depression • Cluttered mind • Ect… • Wouldn’t recommend the practice of meditation to anyone who has trouble sitting still and focus for long periods of time. If you are this type of person you may want to practice meditation with integrated yoga since if requires physical movements.
