Std. reports Non-std. reports XML file Drilling report XML file Drilling - Daily Drilling Report • Scope: Develop common XML schemas for Daily Drilling Report • Participants: BP, ConocoPhillips, ENI, ExxonMobil, Petoro, Hydro, IIP project (DNV, POSC, POSC Caesar, Capgemini,…), NPD, PSA, Shell, Statoil, Total • Pilots: At least two drilling rigs • Implementation on NCS: August 1, 2006 • Benefits: Efficient exchange of drilling data and daily drilling reporting

Scope - details • Create standard terminology and standard data exchange formats for daily drilling reporting between operators, partners and authorities. • Terminology modeled in ISO 15926 – 4 (Important contribution to an oil and gas ontology). • Data exchange formats have to be based on terminology in ISO 15926 – 4. Link between XML schema/XML documents(?) and RDL • Phase 1:Cover regulatory reporting requirements given by “new” Common Daily Drilling Report System (CDRS) • Phase 2: Cover additional reporting requirements identified by project participants.

Terminology & XML- Status • Terminology based on “old” CDRS completed and added top ISO 15926 reference data library • Outstanding issues except Technical Side Tracks resolved by IIP and PSA/NPD • Additional requirements from project participants transferred to Phase 2 • Terminology based on new requirements from NPD/PSA in progress – ETC June 16th • XML Schemas for 5 selected report sections have been proposed. • Example XML documents containing test data have been compiled.

  9. Issues • WITSML seem to be “open” while current CDRS requirements are more restricted. How to handle requirements like reporting in a certain unit of measure? • What is the best way of maintaining and documenting the link between the XML and the terminology in ISO 15926? A proposal has been made by Capgemini • ....
