  2. Chapter 4 Summary • Phileas Fogg comes home at 7:25 in the afternoon. His butler, Jean Passepartout, is surprised to see him come home before midnight. • Passepartout is even more surprised to find out that he has made a bet with his chums from the Reform Club saying that he can go around the world in 80 days. • They catch a train ride to France.

  3. Chapter 5 Summary • In this chapter, everybody hears about Phileas Fogg traveling around the world in 80 days. • Fogg thinks the odds are against him to make it back on time. He might be late on one ride and then he might lose the bet. • No one except for one person thinks that Fogg wont make it back. • One night, the police commissioner gets a telegraph by a detective named Fix saying that Phileas Fogg is the bank robber.

  4. Chapter 6 Summary • In this chapter, Fix is waiting by the dock. There is a captain of a ship talking to him. Fix wants to know when the Mongolia, a steamer, is going to arrive. • Fix is certain that the bank robber will be coming to Suez, on the Mongolia. • The boat arrives, spilling out passengers. • Fix meets Jean Passepartout and asks him where his master is. • Passepartout gets suspicious and tells Fix that Phileas is still on board.
