  2. Description of OOCEA System • OOCEA Operates : • 105-centerline miles of expressway • 35 Dynamic Message Signs that display travel time information • OOCEA has been displaying travel time information since April 2006

  3. Identifying Customer Preferences • UCF performed study for OOCEA on impact of DMS on customer experience • Study revealed OOCEA customers: • Had a favorable opinion of OOCEA DMS • Would prefer to be alerted to abnormal travel conditions with flashing message

  4. Flashing Travel Time Alert • Travel Time Alerts: • Activate under non-recurring congestion • Thresholds tied to historical median travel time • Flashes portions of the travel time message
