  1. Technologies of flame detection • UVdetectors •  UV/IR detectors •  IR detectors •  IR3 detectors

  2. UV flame detectors • Sharpeye UV 20/20 UB and 20/20 U • High speed : • - Ideal indoor detector for high-speed fire detection • Working environment: • - can work in direct sunlight, immune to most heat and light sources • - can detect a fire inside ovens • - will not be blocked by water.

  3. UV flame detectors • Typical UV applications : • - indoor applications • - fuel/gas explosion sources • - metals ( magnesium, aluminium)flames • - peroxide flames • - ammonia flames • - hydrogen/hydrazine flames • - hyperbolic fuels flames.

  4. UV-IR flame detectors •  Sharpeye 20/20 LB and 20/20 L and 20/20 F • Reliable detector: • - requires both UV and IR signals to be present in order to alarm, so it ’s more reliable than single UV or single IR. • Fast response : • - typicalresponse time 3 seconds, but very fast ( 50 ms to a saturated signal).

  5. UV-IR flame detectors • Hydrogen fire detection: - ideal for detection of hydrogen-type fires which emit H2O in that area • Working environment: - immune to heat and light sources(except halogen) - can be used indoors or outdoors • Versatile: - 90° horizontal 90° vertical cone of vision.

  6. UV-IR flame detectors

  7. The IR detector simple frequency: 20/20 R • Cost effective ! • Low-cost single IR in the 4.4 micron range • Flames are not the unique source of IR radiation • Other sources IR: hot surfaces, ovens, incandescent or halogen lamps, burners • These detectors malfunction in case of frost, ice or modulated IR sources However, this detector triggers less false alarms than the UV detector

  8. The IR detector simple frequency: 20/20 R • Typical IR applications : • hydrocarbon flames • indoor applications • transformer rooms • electrical cabinets • storage warehouses

  9. The IR3 flame detector A. Spectrum 1: blocked on CO2 wavelength B. Spectrum 2: closed to CO2 wavelength C. Spectrum 3: very large spectrum to measure the whole IR wavelength The unique detector which surpasses all existing detectors on the market and provides excellent fire detection sensitivity (60 m) and extreme immunity to false alarms (fire of 0,1 m2) It does not replace the UV detectors in their sphere of application.

  10. The IR3 flame detector Advantages: Detection max. length 80m in line with the target Angle 90°  Integrated autotest  Fast no false alarms
