  1. Collimatorsalignment in LSS7 D. Missiaen – 13/06/2014

  2. Agenda • Measurements of main magnets • Deviation to theoretical position • Concept of smoothcurve • Measurements and alignment of collimators • Results

  3. Measurements of main magnets • First step in a survey: the measurements of the main magnets • Theyconstitute the SU measurements Network • In LSS7, typically : • Cold ones : MQ, MB, MQTLH • Warms : MQWA, MQWB, MBW • Frommeasurementswedetermine in V and H: • Deviations to the theoretical position (in db) • Deviations to a smoothcurve ( not in db)

  4. Deviations (in Vertical)

  5. Deviations (in Horizontal)

  6. Measurements of collimateurs • From the real position of the main magnets • Wemeasure and realign the collimators • In V : • A global survey of all collimators • Realignment of the collimators «not declared by RP as very radioactive» whennecessary • Discussion withcollimators experts and RP to decidewhichones are still to realign • In H : • Measurement and Realignment of the collimators «not declared by RP as very radioactive» • Measurementof the collimators«declaredby RP as very radioactive» • Discussion withcollimators experts and RP to decidewhichones are still to realign

  7. Collimators (in V)

  8. Collimators (in V)

  9. Collimators (in V)

  10. Collimators (in H)

  11. Collimators (in H)

  12. Radioactive Collimators

  13. Conclusions • All collimators in LSS7 measured • All colimators «non radioactive» realigned • Among the 21 «radioactive» • 13 wererealigned • 8 were not realigned • The deviations to the theoretical position in in the GEODE database • The deviation to the smoothcurveis NOT (workis on going to have it)
