  1. Growing up child baby We are learning about how we change as we grow older. mum or dad adult teenager grandma or grandad husband or wife toddler

  2. Baby n. A very young child. What can a baby do? What does a baby need help to do?

  3. Toddler n. A child who is just learning to walk. A toddler is beginning to learn to walk. What other things are toddlers learning to do? Toddlers start to be more independent of their parents. What does this mean?

  4. Child n. A young human being below the age of puberty. All children in the UK have to go to school. What age do children start school? As children get older what do they get better at doing? Think about the things you can do that you couldn’t do in Reception. What things can the older children do better than you? What happens to children’s bodies as they get older?

  5. Teenager n. A person from thirteen to nineteen years of age. How does your body start to change when you become a teenager? What age can teenagers leave school?

  6. Adult adj. mature, grown up n. an adult person When a person becomes an adult they usually start work. Why do adults need to have a job? What jobs do the adults in your family do? What job might you like to do when you grow up?

  7. Husband or Wife n. A married man or woman. Some adults get married and some adults don’t. Why do you think some adults choose to get married? What sometimes changes to the woman’s name when she gets married?

  8. Mum or Dad n. A female or male parent. Some adults choose to have a family. Where does the baby grow before it is born? How long does it take for a baby to grow inside it’s mummy’s tummy before it is ready to be born?

  9. Grandma or Grandad n. A female or male grandparent. The parent of one’s mother or father. Some adults become a Grandma or a Grandad, but all adults get older. What happens to our bodies when we get older?
