  2. Registration to Windows Terminal Services (WTS) • Register on the main Windows Terminal Server of CERN • Only necessary if you want to connect from outside CERN • https://winservices.web.cern.ch/winservices/ • Register on the experiments terminal server by sending an e-mail to Gas.Support@cern.ch • Please state the following information: • Your full name and your NICE-username • The name of the experiment + sub-detector • Do you need write access to the gas systems,- do you need to switch on/off modules? (read access is the default login to the gas systems) • Duration during which the access is needed (where applicable) S.Haider

  3. Error message if you don’t have WTS access rights If you see this logon / error message, please proceed with the registration procedure on slide #2 S.Haider

Terminal Server Names  Important  User name: CERN\yourUserName • CERN Main Terminal Server: CERNTS.cern.ch • LHC Experiments (concerning gas) • Alice: ALIDCSAGW001.cern.ch • Atlas : CERNTSATLDCS.cern.ch • CMS: CERNTSCMS01.cern.ch • LHCb: LBTS03.cern.ch In the Remote Desktop Connection window, ALWAYS put CERN\ in front of your user name S.Haider

  5. ATLAS login procedure: 1. 2. 3. 4. S.Haider • Connect to WTS of Atlas (Windows Terminal Service via Remote Desktop Connection) • Select computer pcatlgcsgas • Select panel vision/graphicalFrame/unicosHMI…. • Press Run-button

  6. CMS login procedure: S.Haider • Connect to WTS of CMS • Press “GAS UI” button

  7. ALICE login procedure 1 (2) S.Haider • In Remote desktop Connection - under the tab “Program” - tick “Start the following program on connection” - put under “Program path and file name” the string mstsc /v:ALIGCSTS001 /f

  8. ALICE login procedure 2 (2): S.Haider • Connect to WTS of ALICE • When presented with an empty desktop…. • Navigate + press 

  9. LHCb login procedure: S.Haider • Connect to WTS of LHCb • Press “GAS UI” button
