Session Description VCCCD has recently created an interesting solution in the Finance/AR area: We have developed a Web Cashier application in Banner Self-Service that allows our college business offices to post credit card payments directly to the Student account. The application also allows the entry of additional fees, cash, and check payments.

  4. Web-based Cashiering - Purpose • Replaces separate credit-card machines, dial-up lines, etc. • Direct application to Student account • Single vendor for all CC transactions • Byproduct – allowed addition of American Express and Discover • Performs other Banner functions with the same interface

  5. Separate logon. Not subject to Self-Service timeout

  6. Uses same User ID, PIN as Self-Service

  7. Initial login asks for Student ID

  8. Cashier can review Student’s entire account

  9. Account Review is descending by term

  10. Cashier can print a Schedule/Bill for the term

  11. Cashier can see if a student has a hold

  12. Cashier can release the hold

  13. Cashier can charge Optional Fees (same as Student Web)

  14. Available fees are driven by term, college, rate code

  15. A fee cannot be selected twice. Permit number stored in TBRACCD

  16. Cashier can charge Additional Miscellaneous Fees

  17. Drop-down is based on a view (will use AR security)

  18. Fee amount and document number post to AR

  19. CC can be manually entered or scanned.

  20. Amount is edited – can’t be more than balance.

  21. After payment is made, a receipt can be printed.

  22. Receipt printed for student. File copy can be printed as well.

  23. You can include address for easy mailing

  24. Transactions in TSAAREV are tagged with cashier ID

  25. 7.2 version

  26. Term can be changed for same student, or new student entered

  27. This button is for Credit Card refunds.

  28. Will not allow a refund if not a credit balance.

  29. If credit balance, refund amount is restricted.

  30. Refund processed successfully.

  31. Cash or check can also be entered.

  32. Amount is edited against the balance.

  33. Account Review after all transactions.

  34. Conclusions • Web Cashier • Transactions/services in one place. • Same logic as Student SS for optional fees. • Saves double-entry. • More credit card options.
