  2. Construction and Infrastructure In the construction industry, scrap iron and aluminium are extensively used in a broad range of infrastructural projects, such as building roads and bridges. Scrap metal provides a host of different building materials, widening the scope of waste metal for building purposes. Scrap steel has by far the most versatile usage. Similarly, in commercial construction projects, large shipping containers are used for building residential areas and office complexes.
