  2. MRS inside ! • 8 channels (+2 spare) has been delivered from CPTA Moscow Russia. • The needed documentation is in hands. • The tests are on the way (at FNAL). • After the new test stand set up at NICADD NIU the R&D with MRS will be continued. Victor Rykalin

  3. MRS parameters Victor Rykalin

  4. Status of the new test stand. • Two crates (NIM, CAMAC) and some of the necessary modules has been shipped to lab. 6 from PREP FNAL. • The vital modules (ADC and GRIB controller ) are not available at FNAL at this time. • FSU agreed to lend parts till the March of 2004. • The person responsible for the new test stand has to proceed with material move request and so on. • What kind of software are we going to use ? Victor Rykalin

  5. Current activity • Extruder is up with 2*1 die (November 4 first run for the ME department after long interruption). Will be continued on Thursday. A new motor for the loader has been installed and tested. A new polymer coating of the hopper. Problem still exist. • The PO for $1500 (Viscosity vs shear rate dependence measurements, first set) has been send. • The meeting between Gary Teafoe, Mike Roman and ME department has been organized ( to clarify the set of measurements on the 2*1 cm ** die ). • The comparative measurements of the BC 404, BC 408, FNAL extrusion( Ru 106 and cosmic bulk measurements ) work is in progress. For this purpose I am using the NICADD made test stand. • Working with Dmitry on photosensors. • New (old) PMT’s+dividers have been “spotted” at lab.6 and tested. Two trigger counters have been assembled. There is a hope that patient (trigger) will be back to normal life. Victor Rykalin

  6. Nitrogen line Delay with ALICE tests (due to the 2*1 die running) a new hopper Talk to Jerry Blazey. To switch die as soon as possible and startwith 10 holes die without pins. The decision should be taken (FNAL or other vendor or NIU). The problems and their curing. Victor Rykalin

  7. A plan for the next two weeks.  To make happy ME DEP. with all parameters they need for the simulations.  Proceed with preliminary MRS tests at FNAL.  ?1NIM paper (proceed with some additional measurements of the scintillator bulk). ?Probable run for the ALICE. Victor Rykalin
