  4. PowerSchool • PowerSchool allows parents to have real-time access to their child’s grades, attendance, and teacher comments. • You may get your password from Mrs. Morris/Ms.Bines in guidance. There are several ways to obtain this; • Bring a picture ID in person • Or download App • Or email Student Name, DOB requesting information to Tammy Morris at trmorris@fsd1.org or Qwendolyn Bines at qbines@fsd1.org • We are not allowed to give this information over the phone due to privacy and ID verification limitations.

Counselors Resources • Visit our webpage to view these resources: • Schoolinks-A college and career readiness platform that empowers students. • Career Corner-Job and career resources such as job searches, resume and cover letter writing, job shadowing, career cluster information, etc. • College Information-College searches, admissions information, open house information, etc. • High School Dual Credit Procedures-Step by step process to apply for dual credit. • College Planner (IGPs)-Information on Individual Graduation Planning on Schoolinks. • Scholarships and Special Opportunities-Contains scholarship information sent to South Florence High School. Updated regularly. • SFHS Course Listing-Quick access to courses offered at SFHS. • SFHS Majors-List of Majors by cluster offered at SFHS.

APPLY! • Apply to colleges early (September-December). • Remember to check for specific admissions and scholarship/financial aid deadlines. • Many deadlines are as early as December 1. • Routinely check the SFHS Guidance Webpage for scholarships and other information as well as Schoolinks. • Visit www.che.sc.gov to find college websites and additional information. *See Senior Sheet

Palmetto Fellows (SC 4-Year Colleges and Universities only) • $6700 for Freshman Year • $7500 renewable for Sophomore, Junior, and college Seniors if eligible. • Mrs. Page will be in touch with students who qualify. • Criteria for eligibility (must meet all 3 of the following criteria) • 1200 SAT CR/M or 27 on ACT • 3.5 GPA (UGP) at end of Junior year. • Top 6% of class at end of Sophomore or Junior year. • You may also be eligible if you meet both of the following criteria • 1400 SAT CR/M or 32 on ACT • And 4.0 at end of Junior year.   15. Palmetto Fellows –Continued 1200 SAT CR/M or 27 ACT 3.5 (SCUGP) at end of Senior Year Top 6% of class at end of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year. OR 1400 SAT CR/M or 32 ACT 4.0 at end of Senior Year South Carolina Scholarships

Life Scholarship (SC 2-Year and 4-Year Colleges and Universities only) • $5000 /year (4-Year College) • No application required. • Criteria for eligibility for 4 year colleges(must meet 2 of the following 3 criteria) • 1100 SAT CR/M or 24 on ACT • 3.0 GPA (SCUGP) –upon graduation • Top 30% of graduating class. • Criteria for eligibility for 2 year colleges • 3.0 GPA (UGP) • Standardized test scores and class rank waived. • Up to cost of Tuition.   17. Enhancement Life and Palmetto Fellows Scholarship $2500 increase for declared major in math or science. Please visit www.che.sc.gov for more information. South Carolina Scholarships

HOPE Scholarship(SC 4-Year Colleges and Universities only) • $2800 • 1 year only!! • No application required. • 3.0 GPA (SCUGP) Upon graduation • Becomes Life scholarship after first year if student meets criteria for LIFE Scholarship renewed (3.0 GPA and 30 credit hours per year).
