  2. Possessives WHOSE? = CZYJE? Three ways of expressing: • possessive ’s • determiners (possessive adjectives) • possessive pronouns

  4. Possessive’s: Spelling • singular noun: add 's Jack → Jack’s pen • singular noun ending in –s: add 's or an apostrophe (') only Mr James → Mr James’s book / Mr James’ book

  5. Possessive’s: Spelling • regular plural noun: add an apostrophe (') only my parents → my parents’ car • irregular plural noun (not ending in –s): add 's the children → the children’s room

  9. Singular 1. I → me 2. you → you 3. he → him she → her it → its Plural 1. we → us 2. you → you 3. they → them Object Pronouns We like them. She loves him. I look at you. They see us.

  10. A: Whose bag is this? B: It is Jenny’s bag. It is her bag. This bag is hers.
