  3. Introduction Microsoft actually needs a hit and it looks that the latest Windows release could be it. A very lovely start menu, east translation between desktop and tablet mode and great multi-tasking are just a few reasons to get excited. Edge and Cortana might need a bit of work and some other users are definitely encouraging teething troubles. However, it is still early days. There are some issues you may face while working in Windows 10. You will get here the most common errors you may face and also how to fix them manually.

  4. Most Common Problems and their Solutions

  5. Problem 1: Windows installation may terminate with “Something Happened” message In some languages, you may notice that the message “Something Happened” with the only option being CLOSE button. When you click the button then the installation terminates. This issue has been noticed when you chose tom create an ISO and when you are using a burned DVD or even USB to install Windows 10.

  6. However, not official, but the problem is attributed to Language settings in Windows operating system. You can check the Language and Region settings in Control Panel of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 that you are upgrading using the ISO file. This idea being widely used is to re-download the US English Language pack and install it on the computer you are trying to upgrade.

  7. Solution: One of the best solutions is to “Upgrade This PC” option with the use of Windows 10 Media creation tool. The latter option would remove the requirement to create ISO-based installation media and it will then do an in-place upgrade of Windows 10. The in-place upgrade does not go wrong with the weird “something happened” message as per the reports on social media. You will then require an active internet connection for every PC you upgrade in this way. Or in short, if you perform an in-place upgrade then it is a better option than going for ISO files of Windows 10 as of now. The “Something Happened” message is quite vague and it does not tell you what went wrong. The second line as well says the same.

  8. Problem 2: Windows 10 Won’t Download There are lots of users who have Windows 7, 8 or 8.1are supposed to be able to download Windows 10 automatically by simply clicking an upgrade icon in the system tray on the taskbar. However, there are some users have has difficulty with the download or it have not been authorized to download it yet.

  9. Solution: Ifyou are required to upgrade the normal way then you can easily fix this issue manually. In some cases, the problem is encountered because your current edition of Windows is not fully updated and running Windows Update solves the problem. You can work around the problem by simply using the Microsoft’s Windows 10 media download official tool. This will download an .ISO file of the operating system which can then be loaded on a USB drive or a DVD to then install the OS from scratch.

  10. Problem 3: Cortana Not Responding Sometimes you have to wait for Microsoft to address some of the issue with Cortana not responding when you tap or click on them on the microphone icon in the Taskbar. If your problem is that then you should try going to Cortana’s settings using the Notebook Icon on the left side of the Windows. You can simply adjust for volume again and spend some time adding your voice prints if you are in a reasonably quiet space.

  11. Solution: If your Cortana is not responding in Windows 10 then you can set up Cortana in Windows 10 again. If after upgrading to Windows 10 then you can find that Cortana is not available in your region then this post titled Cortana not available on Windows 10 can help you get Cortana on your Windows 10 PC. Go through the entire post then you can see which one or more of these suggestions may apply in your case. Sign out and sign in or restart your PC and check if the issue goes away. Next you can also try automatic repair because if your PC prompts for Automatic Repair then you can continue with it and let Windows carry it out. Or you can kill and restart the Cortana process. If the Cortana is not working in a proper way then you can kill Cortana process and then restart the process trough Task Manager. If it were just a minor runtime error then you Cortana would just take a restart to fix this issue.

  12. Problem 4: Windows 10 Shares Your Wi-Fi With Contacts Though there is always a balance found between security and convenience but some of the users feel that Microsoft has overstepped the bounds with the new Wi-Fi Sense feature. Then basic idea is that it offers an easy and automatic way to share your Wi-Fi password along with full contacts fetched from your Facebook, Skype or Outlook accounts. The main problem is that you may need to grant access to your Wi-Fi network to every one of your Facebook friends.

  13. Solution: You can uninstall the previous version of Windows 10 and can reinstall the latest version of Windows 10 where you will no longer have to face this problem. For more Wi-Fi options, you can try the below steps: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi> Manage Wi-Fi settings and you can toggle network sharing off, or choose to include Outlook, Skype, or Facebook.

  14. Problem 5: Bluetooth Not Working Few users of Windows 10 are getting some trouble because their Bluetooth is not working properly. This could impact your keyboard, headphones, mouse and other things that connect to your system through Bluetooth.

  15. Solution: You can try the below procedure to fix this problem manually. Go to Settings > Devices and make sure that Bluetooth is toggled on. But make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is fully charged and that you are following the pairing process. Most of the time, you have to hold down a button so that you can make the device discoverable. Also, there is a possible chance that this is a driver problem. You will then have to check with the manufacturer that you have the latest driver especially if you are jumping straight from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

  16. These are some of the common problem in Windows 10 you may face but don’t worry as these problems can be easily solved with some manual tips and tricks. However, you can also try other third party tool like Reimage Repair Tool. You can scan your PC with this tool and can fix most of the common problems you may come across in Windows 10. Hope these problems and their solutions can help you lot while working in Windows 10.
