  4. Message to shipowners Full compliance with BMP Drop off in attacks, no excuse for not registering Nor for slowing down Speed can be adjusted, but must be able to get to high speed

  5. External message Lobbying for continued naval support Armed guards have been used, but cannot become the accepted norm Working towards the normal situation Save our Seafarers campaign will continue

  6. BMP Some sections need revising Must reflect current best practice Always been a flexible document Must remain focused for the seafarer

  7. High Risk Area • Unable to change from the existing text without a compelling need based upon the threat assessment • Need to provide clear and unambiguous guidance to seafarers • They face the risk

  8. Djibouti Piracy Week Attended by BIMCO and ICS Industry pleased with the outcome Especially the guidance for humanitarian care of seafarers No news on any ad hoc group working under auspices of WG3

  9. Summary Grateful for commitment Continue to push for full compliance BMP being looked at for revision Cannot undertake a revision of HRA without a compelling need based upon a risk assessment Any revision must be in the interests of the seafarer
