  2. Inventions to Consider The invention that most intrigued me was the Automatic Personalized House. This was a house with millions of computers inside to do your whims. I liked it because I liked the fact that if I wanted to, I could order my house around from a single remote. “House, do my homework!” The craziest ‘invention’ I learned about was the Surf ‘n’ Surf. This was a computer attached to a surf board using a supporter. It wasn’t practical because you could die trying to use a computer in water.

  3. The Expert I chose to be in the Space and Technology field. I chose this field because I love technology (my dad can back me up on this) and I am very into Space. I

  4. My Inspiration My inspiration to do this invention for my project was my class at the Summer Enrichment Program at UVA during the summer of 2006. I went to a certain class about Space and the ongoing journey to discover its secrets. This made me think about how man has always been curious about the black hole. And so I made the KAT Telescope.

  5. Through the Centuries • 19th Century- The Electric Telescope. I chose this because it was believed that this was the first telescope ever made that functioned with electricity. • 20th Century- Lohmann Brothers Telescope- 1920. This telescope was special, as the ones that are left are restricted to museums. • 21st Century- The Hubble Telescope. This telescope takes pictures from outer space and astronauts retrieve the photos from the ‘satellite’ that takes them.

  6. Primary Source The Primary Document I chose was the layout for the Electric Telescope. It shows what the inventor’s ideas were when they were creating the telescope. Notes for the electric telescope, 1880 Feb. 27 By Emile Berliner (1851-1929) Library of Congress, Motion Picture and Recording sound Division

  8. My Invention • I have invented the K.A.T. Telescope. • The Kinetic Adaptable Telescope is supposed to be sent into space, unmanned, and enter a black hole. • It will take pictures and then will send the pictures to a nearby satellite. • I hope that one day I will actually create the KAT Telescope, and it will be successful on its journey to discover the Unknown. If it is a dream, then I can make it so. • I haven’t figured out if there is a way to retrieve the Telescope from the black hole yet, though.
