  2. Present R&I initiatives and projects • International projects: • EU FP7: PERSEUS, SeaDataNet, PARASITE, ARAMACC, ... • IPA Cross-border Adriatic programme: BALMAS, DeFishGear, HAZADR, ... • EC: EMODNET, DCF, MFSD monitoring, ...

Present R&I initiatives and projects • National projects: • UKF Fund: NEURAL • Ministry of Science: a dosen of small research projects • Ministry for Agriculture and Fisheries: several R&I and monitoring projects for fisheries • Ministry of Environmental Protection: GES projects • Croatian Science Foundation: Several R&I projects

R&I opportunities • Assessing and projecting fish stock changes and aquaculture capacities with respect to the changing environment • - How the changing environment influence pelagic and demersal fish populations? Which comercial species are most endangered by climate changes? What about the aquaculture – which are the best ways for adaption to climate changes?

  5. R&I opportunities • Assessing the rate of fish and shellfish contamination (also by marine litter) and of risks for human health

  6. R&I opportunities • Developing operational systems for forecasting of marine hazards from hourly to climate timescales

  7. R&I opportunities • Integrating climate changes in socioeconomic and policy research in the Mediterranean
