Nis for Nation – the citizens of our country came from many countries and cultures, speaking many languages, to form one nation under God. Sis for Service that every citizen and especially Cub Scouts give to make our families, community, nation, and world a better place to live. His for Honesty and integrity – part of being a good citizen. Pis for Patriotism – love of country and the willingness to sacrifice to defend it.

  10. Citizenship What’s letter is missing? The most important letter in Citizenship is the “I” because “I” (and you) am the one who should be a good citizen!

  11. Citizenship in the Ranks As a Tiger, a scout promises to “do my duty to God and my country” and learns to handle and fold the flag. The boys in the Wolf Den show that they can be good citizens; they are learning the responsibilities of being a citizen of the world and community. Like all good citizens, they learn to follow the rules! The boys in the Bear Den learn how to help prevent crime by making sure their home is safe. They also learned how to reach the right people in an emergency and they made sure their family is safer by posting important numbers by each phone. They help at home and in their community to make it a better place to live. The Webelos Den is working on the Citizenship Belt Loop and learning about the rights and responsibilities of being a United States citizen. They learn that service is part of being a good scout and a good citizen.

  12. Citizenship Belt Loop Requirements • Develop a list of jobs you can do around the home. Chart your progress for one week. • Make a poster showing things that you can do to be a good citizen. • Participate in a family, den, or school service project.

  13. Citizenship Pin Complete five of the following requirements: • Interview someone who has become a naturalized citizen. Give a report of your interview to your den or family. • Write a letter to your newspaper about an issue that concerns you. Send your letter by mail or e-mail. • Create a collage about America. • Make a list of items to check for a home safety or energy audit and then inspect your home.
