  8. Opinion column is a piece of writing that is mainly based on the opinions or viewpoint of the writer. Opinions are mostly subjective which means that they are not based on absolute facts but on emotions and interpretation of facts. Opinion pieces are usually published in magazines or newspapers as editorial or opinion editorials (Damer, 2008).
