Selected programs listed include investments in clean energy projects as one of many priorities listed in the legislation. Advanced Transportation Technologies ($2.7B) • Advanced Battery & Hybrid Component Manufacturing Grants ($2.0B): Awards for battery manufacturing through new solicitation; funds awarded within 4 months • Transportation Electrification ($400M): FOA in place with NETL; awards scheduled to be made within 90 days • Clean Cities Alternative Fuel Pilot Program($300M): New competitive solicitation through NETL; initial awards scheduled to be made within 120 days

State, Local and Weatherization Assistance Programs ($11.6B) • Weatherization Assistance Program ($5.0B): Assistance to low-income households for energy efficiency improvements • Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants ($3.2B): new formula grant program to states & territories ($770M), cities & counties ($1.9B) and Indian tribes ($54M) to reduce use of fossil fuels and improve energy efficiency; remaining $456M for competitive grants • Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate Program ($300M): New program to issue rebates for EnergyStar appliances. Setup funding mechanism with NETL and determine eligible products; review and award state applications within 120 days • State Energy Program ($3.1B): Formula grant program to states for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs and activities

DOE Office of Electricity ($4.5B) • Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability: • Modernize the national electric grid • Enhance U.S. energy infrastructure • Ensure reliable electricity delivery to meet growing demand • Allow for broader use of alternative energy • Smart Grid: These funds support the implementation of the Smart Grid program authorized by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 • The Recovery Act Provides Specific Funding for three areas of Smart Grid: • Development of interoperability standards for Smart Grid devices • Workforce training and development • Nationwide resource assessment and analysis of future demand and transmission requirement

  8. Recovery Act Tax Provisions New and modified clean energy tax incentives are estimated to result in an additional $20 billion in federal revenue reductions over ten years
