  4. Weather To beat the rush of crowed attractions & markets, October is the paramount time to discover Egypt. With comfortable temperatures & no threats of shifting sands and high winds (called Khamsin), you both will be able to experience the sites, sounds & attractions in the finest manner.

  5. Travel Advisories EGYPT - Exercise a high degree of caution There is no nationwide advisory in effect for Egypt. However, you should exercise a high degree of caution due to the unpredictable security situation and continued demonstrations throughout the country. Although it should be noted that most violence is linked to family feuds. Health entry requirements All foreigners planning to study, work or train in Egypt for longer than one month will be required to undergo testing for human immunodeficiency virus. Regional travel If you are contemplating travelling to other Arab countries, bare in mind that Canadians have been denied entry because their passports bore: (a) an Israeli visa; (b) an Israeli border stamp; or (c) an Egyptian or Jordanian border stamp issued by an office bordering Israel (such a stamp would indicate you entered from Israel).   8. Religion, Culture & Customs The predominate religion is Islamic, however Egypt only recognizes two other religions which include Christianity and Judaism. It is customary to shake hands with your right hand and not left when greeting a new person. Expect little personal space and do not offer tips to professionals, businessmen, or others who would consider themselves your equals, you may offend them. *Reminder: Egyptian work weeks are Sunday through Thursday leaving their weekends Friday and Saturday. Also, it is advised not to travel to Egypt during Ramadan because of many closed establishments. In Mosques make sure to dress conservatively, showing no skin and remove shoes when entering.

Oct. 13th Guided by your own Egyptologist to some of Egypt’s most iconic sites in Giza, today you will be able to explore the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza and Egyptian Museum. (BB) Day 9: Mon.   26. Nile Cruise Itinerary Part Two Day 12: Thurs. Oct. 17th Visit the impressive double-temple of KomOmbo. You’ll then go to the Aswan High Dam, where you will see the enormous Unfinished Obelisk. Then you will travel by motorboat to the Temple of Isis. Later, return to Aswan to sail in a traditional Nile felucca around Aswan’s Botanical Gardens. Back onboard the ship, enjoy a typical Nubian folkloric show with a live band playing Nubian music. (BB, L, D) Day 13: Fri. Oct. 18th Disembark the River Tosca.
