  7. Locally-adapted broodstock program (Phase I) 1) Collection in Omak Creek & Okanogan River 2) Collection of 16 adult steelhead (8 male, 8 females) 3) Differentially marked – based on parental origin 4) Monitoring returning adults and spawning success

  8. Increase in canopy closure from 8.4% to 30%

  9. Collection of broodstock, in Omak Creek and Okanogan River Picket weir Trap net Angling

  10. Collection from March 14 to May 2 (total 29 days)

  11. Omak Creek – Picket weir ~ 80 cfs – March 16

  12. 8 steelhead collected [4 males (1W, 3H); 4 females (2W*, 2H)]

  14. Broodstock virology testing: (tissues, ovarian fluids) EHN, IHN, IPN, OMV, SVC, VHS

  15. Allproduction will be marked (differentially) with Elastomer tags

  16. Monitoring & Evaluation:12 years Assessments: Returning adults Redd surveys Juvenile abundance Smolt origin

  17. Recommendations 1) Improve ability to collect broodstock 2) Ability to collect smolts 3) Initiate a kelt reconditioning program
