His interest in trading can be traced back to his days as a midshipman at the US Naval Academy. The dynamic and totally engaging approach he brings to teaching Online Trading Academy’s curriculum comes from years of hands-on, trial by fire experience and an inexhaustible passion for trading and teaching. His trading prowess can be linked to the fact that he has devoured a library of trading materials worth well in excess of $160,000. Bert knows exactly how and why people run into trading obstacles. Even more importantly, he knows exactly how to help them avoid trading hazards because he has been down the hard road looking for the Trader's Grail. This is a rare breed!

  4. What is FlowBox Charting? • Introduced by Bert Antonik to the Trading World • FlowBox (FB) is a result of 30 years of trading • New unique charting approach that does not ‘Display Traditional OPEN, HIGH, LOW & CLOSE of each period !’ • Main purpose to ELIMINATE Trading Emotion

  5. What is FlowBox Charting? • Allow Traders to ‘Filter to Focus’ on the Trading Process • Reveals Support (Demand) & Resistance (Supply) • Able to identify Risk Level & Entry Opportunity • Helps Trader stay in GOOD Trades Longer • Helps Trader Exit LOSING Positions Faster

  6. FlowBox - Basic • FlowBox • FlowBox ChannelLine • FlowBox Chart • FlowBox Arrows BaseLine

  7. FlowBox - BaseLine • BaseLine (BL) = • General trend confirmation • BaseLine confirms up trend, when trading above BaseLine & BaseLine trending Up • Compare closes to the BaseLine to determine angle of BaseLine (Up, Down or Flat) Purple

  8. FlowBox - BaseLine • Relation between BaseLine with FlowBox Channel Line (BL above, below or middle of FB Channel Line) • Helps to Identify general trend for the time period • Stronger on larger timeframe • BaseLine – similar to Moving Average but have unique qualities

  9. FlowBox – ChannelLine • Upper Channel Line (UCL) • When Upper Channel Line (UCL) crosses below BaseLine (BL), a general Short confirmation; if BL is Trending Down • When UCL crosses back above BL, look for additional scaling in opportunity; At or Near BL

  10. FlowBox – ChannelLine • Upper Channel Line (UCL) • When holding a SHORT position, UCL can be used as a Stop when below Entry • When SHORTING, the initial Stop will be just above the Prior UCL Pivot High • Connect the Pivot Highs & Draw Trading Trendline

  11. FlowBox – ChannelLine • Lower Channel Line (LCL) • When Lower Channel Line (LCL) crosses above BaseLine (BL), a general Long confirmation; if BL is Trending Up • When LCL crosses back below BL, look for additional scaling in opportunity; At or Near BL

  12. FlowBox – ChannelLine • Lower Channel Line (LCL) • When holding a LONG position, LCL can be used as a Stop when above Entry • When Going LONG, the initial Stop will be just below the Prior LCL Pivot Low • Connect the Pivot Lows & Draw Trading Trendline

  13. FlowBox Chart • Consist of :- • Box • Pipe • Clusters • The Flow is either from 1 Box to another Box Directly OR by a Pipe

  14. FlowBox Chart • When the Right Edge of the Box stays Open, and the new period begins; then a CLUSTER is formed • Clusters are Significant because they identify the potential for a change in the Flow direction (Possible Trend Change) • Pay attention when FlowBoxes cluster sideways, usually an indication of a consolidation area and potential trend change

  15. FlowBox Chart • A Long Pipe is pipe that’s significantly larger than the prior box or last box in a cluster • Long Pipe Reversals, normally signal OR confirm the change in Trend Direction

  16. FlowBox Chart B = Box P = Pipe C = Cluster C B P

  17. FlowBox Chart • FlowBox Chart – makes it easy to identify :- • Pivot High & Pivot Low points • Impulse & Corrective moves, from which trendlines can be drawn

  18. FlowBox Chart

  19. FlowBox – Arrows • provides visual confirmation of anticipated FlowBox retracement • when displayed (only available with asset classes that trade in penny / 0.01 increment), Flowbox Arrows provides traders with an alert for opportunities to scale into an existing position

  20. FlowBox – Arrows Green Arrow • is an alert for potentially adding to a LONG position Red Arrow • is an alert for potentially adding to a SHORT position

  21. FlowBox Basics

  22. FlowBox Basics - Example

  23. FlowBox – Volume Mix Indicator • helps identify significant activity during times when there is a High Probability for a potential trend change • to alert traders to periods when unusually high volume exit • a) just before, during & shortly after unsually high volume periods, a high potential exist for trend change • b) by identifying high volume periods traders can get an additional confirmation for Trade Entries & Exits

  24. FlowBox – Bert’s RSI • This is a modified RSI that uses an integration of both the standard RSI & MACD algorithm • This indicator is used to confirm the initial & continuing trend direction. And also alert traders to the completion of the trend

  25. FlowBox – Bert’s RSI • RSI Base Line (Green) - similar to the Standard RSI • RSI Signal Line (Red) - similar to the MACD Signal Line • Depending on asset class being traded, historical indicator low or high levels may alert the trader to potential consolidation areas preceeding trend continuation & changes

  26. FlowBox – Bert’s RSI • BUY or Go LONG • When Signal Line cross above Base Line, upward movement is being confirmed • Aggressive traders may use the crossing as confirmation for an entry • Green Shadow are shown when Signal Line cross above Base Line • When Base Line cross above 50, a higher probability BUY alert is given • Green Arrow is shown when Base Line cross above 50

  27. FlowBox – Bert’s RSI • SELL or Go SHORT • When Signal Line cross below Base Line, downward movement is being confirmed • Aggressive traders may use the crossing as confirmation for an entry • Red Shadow are shown when Signal Line cross below Base Line • When Base Line cross below 50, a higher probability SELL alert is given • Red Arrow is shown when Base Line cross below 50

  28. FlowBox – Bert’s RSI • a Flat Indicator at or near 50 should be interpreted as consolidation • steep slopes alert trader to higher probability trades • traders should consider drawing trendlines using the High & Low pivots of the signal line

  29. FlowBox – Bert’s Stochastic • similar to a slow stochastic & is modified to use self-adjusting parameters within its algorithm • similar to Bert's RSI. This indicator is used to confirm the initial & continuing trend direction and not the completion of a trend

  30. FlowBox – Bert’s Stochastic • This indicator is used in conjunction with and is displayed as an overlay on “Bert's RSI” • its used to confirm the Bert's RSI for Higher probability trade Entries & Exits • when overlayed properly, and when this indicator crosses above or below Bert's RSI a higher probability trend maybe identified if both indicators point in the same direction with steep slopes

  31. FlowBox – ADX Line • Similar to standard ADX but modified to use self adjusting parameters within its algorithm • To identify trend strength & continuation period • used in conjunction with Bert's RSI & Bert's Stochastic Overlay

  32. FlowBox – ADX Line • when this indicator RISES from the Low Zone Area it usually indicates the beginning or continuation of a trend • when this indicator FALLS from the High Zone Area it usually indicates the reversal or weakening of a trend • a RISING ADX Line is always more significant then a falling ADX Line

  33. FlowBox – ADX Strength Arrows • provides a visual confirmation of the ADX strength • when displayed - strength arrows confirm the strength of a trend in conjunction with a Rising ADX

  34. FlowBox – ADX Strength Arrows • when strength arrows appear they provide additional confirmation that a trend is either beginning or continuing increasing the likelihood of a higher probability trade • traders should anticipate a RISING ADX when a strength arrow appears

  35. FlowBox – ADX +DI & -DI • +DIidentifies Uptrend direction • -DI identifies Downtrend direction • similar to standard +DI & -DI but modified to use self-adjusting parameters in its algorithm

  36. FlowBox – ADX +DI & -DI • +DI • When +DIcrosses above-DI and continues to Rise, a potential uptrend is identified • -DI • When -DIcrosses above+DI and continues to Rise, a potential downtrend is identified

  37. FlowBox – ADX +DI & -DI Critical Concept - For Both +DI & -DI • If +DI or -DI also crosses above the ADX Line, it indicates additional strength in the trend • If +DI or -DI also crosses below a Rising ADX Line, it indicates a weakening in the trend that may lead to a Reversal

  38. FlowBox – ADX Zones (High & Low) • ADX High Zone Area (HZA) represents an area where trends are likely to end or consolidate • ADX Low Zone Area (LZA) represents an area where trends are likely to begin or sometimes consolidate • alert traders to potential trend changes

  39. FlowBox – ADX Zones (High & Low) High Zone • when either the ADX Line, +DI or -DI approaches the High Zone, traders should anticipate a potential trend change • when ADX Line falls away from the High Zone, the probability of a trend change increases and maybe confirmed

  40. FlowBox – ADX Zones (High & Low) Low Zone - look for good trends to begin from the Low Zone Area Uptrend Alert • ADX Line Rising from Low Zone Area (LZA) and +DI Rising & Crossing above -DI in the LZA, indicates a high probability beginning of an uptrend • if +DI also crosses above ADX Line near the LZA it increases the probability of the beginning of an uptrend

  41. FlowBox – ADX Zones (High & Low) Low Zone Downtrend Alert • ADX Line Rising from Low Zone Area (LZA) and -DI Rising & Crossing above +DI in the LZA, indicates a high probability beginning of a downtrend • if -DI also crosses above ADX Line near the LZA it increases the probability of the beginning of a downtrend

  42. FlowBox – ADX Shadows • identify a crossing of the +DI & -DI • alert traders to a potential trend change • used in conjunction with Bert's RSI Shadow to provide confirmation to a potential High Probability Trade

  43. FlowBox – ADX Shadows • Green Shadow signals +DI cross above –DI • Red Shadow signals –DI cross above +DI • when Green Shadow is IMMEDIATELY followed by Red Shadow, anticipate a Downtrend or Short Sell Opportunity • when Red Shadow is IMMEDIATELY followed by Green Shadow, anticipate a Uptrend or Buy Opportunity

  44. FlowBox – ADX All-In-One

  45. FlowBox Highest Probability Trades
