Preliminary classifications and proposals are given as a result of the initial bottom up approach. • These data and information will have to be analysed and combined with more input coming from other different sources: • environmental analysis: e.g. what research areas are being funded at nation al level in the ICT area? What are the ICT research priority areas identified by national public institutions? • knowledge and background of the experts: knowledge of the country industrial context, knowledge of best players; etc. MAP-IT! 1st Periodic Review

  9. Expert Panel • Objectives • Two Expert panels had been conceived at the beginning of the project for the analysis of the 2 groups of countries data. • After discussion among partners and preliminary attempts to fix a date to meet experts it has been decided to follow a different approach. The experience of MED IST has also been important to select this as an option. The expert panels will operate at national level and are composed by: • 2 representatives of the consortium; • 2 local experts and • 1 European expert in ICT and international cooperation. • The two representatives of the consortium for each Expert panel are : • Cybion • The Partner responsible for the concerned country. MAP-IT! 1st Periodic Review

  14. Expert Panel • Common feedback – Mapping report • Experts validated the National mapping report template as exhaustive and as an excellent document which can provide, once filled-in in all its section, a detailed picture of the IT situation in the Mediterranean target countries. • Current version of the mapping report does not reflect the ICT sector. • Concerns were mentioned with regard to the timetable, considering that the data collection through the questionnaires will take a considerable amount of time. • The questionnaire is still not an easy task to be filled by good % of organizations, more follow-up activities is needed. • Collaboration is needed with MED-IST to get more info about research centers and Universities in order to have a complete mapping report that adress all players not only SMEs MAP-IT! 1st Periodic Review

  15. Expert Panel • Common feedback – Environmental Analysis Report • Data needs to be updated to reflect current status. MAP-IT! 1st Periodic Review
