  3. Enlistment • Male Singaporean citizens and permanent residents who registered NRIC at 15 years old are required to register for National Service upon reaching the age of 16½ years. • Required to undergo a mandatory medical examination to determine their medical status.

  4. Medically unfit • Exemptions are rare and are usually due to disability or serious medical conditions certified by the SAF Medical Board. • One instance of rare cases of exemption would be if the enlistment would cause hardship to the enlistee's family, be it financially or otherwise. However, this particular exemption is rarely granted. • So…. What’s the chances o.O

  5. PES(Physical Employment Status) • Graded from PES A to PES F. • PES A = Full BMT • PES F = Go home. :D

  6. Duration of enlistment • 1971~Nov 04: LCP<x = 2years • 1971~May 04: CPL>x = 2years6mths • June 04~Nov 04: CPL >x = 2years2mths • Dec 2004, the full time enlistment for all ranks are now 2 years.

  7. Refusal to serve NS • Those who refuse to serve NS face imprisonment for a period of 3 years and a fine of SGD$10,000.

  8. BMT • BMT, also known as Basic Military Training, is held at the offshore island of Pulau Tekong. • During this 3-month long course, recruits must go through courses including field craft, basic jungle survival, camouflaging, operating their personal weapon and basic marksmanship.

  9. Pay • REC/PTE($420)~CPT($1820) • In short, you earn 100% profit because the lodging and food is free inside the camp :D unless you go watch movie during the weekends….
