  1. “LET’S MAKE A BETTER WORLD”ASSOCIACIONS ESCOLARSCOMENIUS MULTILATERALS PRACTIQUES 2 I EUROPA

  2. WHY DOES OUR SCHOOL WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN PROJECTS OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ? Because we know some very positive experiences of cooperation of other schools, and we experience everyday that when the students are in front of a situation of real communication in which they are the centre they get involved and very interested. Our objectives and priorities are: • Motivate children school tasks. • Motivate teachers job. • Stimulate group work. • Give confidence to our future adults. • Share experiences, tasks and points of view. • Make students happy while working and learning. • Have fun.

  3. THE RESULTS WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE: • Broadening minds in our students. • Learning to be tolerant. • Develop the feeling of being European. • Have a more clear idea about Europe. • Proud students about their tasks and enrichment through the communication. • Many shared activities. • A self evaluation comment at the end of every year.

  4. CONCRETE AIMS: • Built self-confidence. • Establish a meaningful relationship among our students. Facilitate friendship links between them, after knowing each other. • Show a respectful and tolerant attitude towards individual, cultural and social differences to make social integration possible. • Develop our European identity in the school and town. • Increase the will to collaborate and share, with people far from us. • Insure equal rights between girls and boys. • Implement the use of TIC. • Give a purpose to everyday activities. • Value the use of foreign languages.

  5. EXPECTED IMPACT Our children will: • Enjoy meeting and knowing new boys and girls. • Solve relationship problems easily. • Respect individual differences. • Be eager to help the others. (close and not so close; to make a better world) • Be open minded. • Motivated to learn foreign languages to make communication easier. • Feet part of European Community and realise that in spite of the differences we have much in common. • Spread their social positive experiences.

  6. PLANNED ACTIVITIES IN THE COURSE OF THE PROJECT. YEAR ONE The main aim is getting in contact, knowing each other; sharing activities about the children themselves and the nearest world around them. FIRST TERM: • Me and my family. Physical description through photos. Every group can make an album. They can draw and write compositions. Me, as a student: What do I do at school? • Christmas Holidays, my friends and hobbies. Our traditions. How we celebrate these festivities. We can make a video showing the decorations and different performances. • We will exchange all the activities with all partner schools. SECOND TERM: • My school • My town. • Collecting, presenting and sharing information and exchange it with all the countries.

  7. YEAR TWO The main objective is to work on children emotions and feelings, social abilities and Art as a way of communication. (read, perform, colour, dance...) Stories are a good excuse to know other cultures, to feel empathic with the characters. We will plan everything by using active methodology. FIRST TERM All the groups work with our own story (four or more) on the same topic; a fairy tail and then we exchange with partners. We choose a fairy tail as a tool to transmit our culture and try to become more respectful and tolerant. SECOND TERM We choose a story to work on dialogue and social positive abilities to achieve social integration. All the countries will work with the same story, possibly “ the three twins” a modern nice Catalan story that fits our aims a lot. We will spend more energies on the art presentations and make a DVD.

  8. THIRD YEAR We want to work on social abilities through: • Sharing out door games, or in door physical activities. • Respect environment. • Look for ways to help people close to us and far from us. We share the same world and we are not so different. FIRST TERM We will exchange games and activities to experiment equal opportunities for boys and girls, in the classroom and in the playground. SECOND TERM We will practise “ Land Art” after value, collect and respect the big quantities of plastic, bricks, paper, glass… we waste and the effect on our environment, developing our children creativity.

  9. END PRODUCTS WE INTENT TO PRODUCE. • Albums of photos drawings and descriptions. Introducing to each other. • A presentation of everything: project, products and evaluation in the web of our schools. • Videos. • CD’s. • DVD’s. • Power Point presentations. • The Comenius History book: “ Let’s make a better world” with final conclusions, made by students and teachers, final commitments to act in our small social groups and in the big ones.

  10. PLANNED EVALUATION FOR THE PROJECT AND ITS IMPACT • A survey at the beginning of the project and at the end, about general knowledge of the other countries working in the project. • A grid to value all the process: beginning, developing, evaluation, commitments.... with all the members in the community: families, teachers and students. • A survey to the families, about the interest of their children and about the Comenius project impact on them. • An evaluation from the families.

  11. WAYS TO DISSEMINATE THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT. • In the public exhibition at school, open to all the families. • In the meeting with the families, at the beginning of the school year. • In the parents individual meeting with the tutor. • In the school magazine. • In the parents magazine. • In the annual exposition. • In the local newspaper and radio. • To the Education authorities. • In the school web.

  12. HOW WILL THE PROJECT BE INCLUDED IN THE SCHOOL PROGRAMME. • All the activities and aims planned in the project are going to be included in the Subjects Programmes for the school year, in Languages, Art, History , Geography, New technologies, Music, Ethic, Environment, Health, Sport... that all the teachers agree at the end of the school year. For this reason it is so important to have the agreement of all the teachers at school. • Apart from this point our Comenius project is completely linked with the previous school years Curriculum, projects and aims of our school. • The Comenius tasks are made and included in the school organization, in the Art workshops, Physical Education lessons…

  13. SPECIFIC ACTIONS TO GUARANTEE EVERYBODY PARTICIPATION. We will: • Adapt project activities for the pupils special education needs and work in co-operative groups. • Do the activities by making no difference between boys and girls. • Prepare activities to include everyone, of different races, nationalities and cultures. • Facilitate the equal participation of students from socio-economic law background, delivering them everything they need for project activities. • Prepare specific activities for disabled pupils to participate. • Organise mix up groups for ethnic and minority groups to participate with all the students, helping them to translate.... to help to feel part of the group; giving them individual attention when necessary. • All the activities are going to be part of the school curriculum. The students are going to discuss or prepare the activities to share with their tutors and afterwards they are going to prepare those activities in the English lessons, and finish them to be sent.

  14. ROLE OF ALL INSTITUTIONS PARTICIPATING IN THE PROJECT • The co-ordinator school has the responsibility to prepare the project, in order to make discussion easier. It also has the responsibility to make all the process of activities and timing more dynamic. • All the schools that participate will have the same responsibility to prepare the project and to make it possible and to spread it in their communities. It is also important to keep copies of every work and task we share. • The mobility activities and the regular communication by mails, phone or fax will facilitate an easy communication to achieve our objectives. • The TIC will be very important ways of communication School web, and our own Comenius fobos space.
