The Role of aNASA Small Business Specialist (SBS) • SBSs are located at all NASA Centers and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) • SBS Responsibilities include: • Review proposed acquisitions and work with SEB boards to ensure fair opportunities for small business set-aside’s. (assist with Sources Sought and Market Research) • Reviewing subcontracting plans to ensure fair opportunities for Small Businesses • Work with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Procurement Center Representatives • Generate and analyze small business prime and subcontracting metrics at our NASA Center to ensure goals are being met • Provide internal training to technical and procurement personnel on how to increase small business involvement • Participate in outreach events to inform attendees of Center projects, programs and procurement opportunities available
