  2. Mercury’s traits • Mercury was the messenger of the gods and travelers and tradesmen. Whenever the gods needed a message delivered, they called on mercury to deliver it.

  3. Mercury’s tribute to medicine • Mercury was also the god of medicine and his caduceus has been referenced as the symbol for medicine when in all reality doesn’t have any relationship to it. The rod of asclepius is the symbol for medicine.

  4. Mercury’s symbols Symbols that represented Mercury would be the wings on his helmet or his sandals which allowed him to fly at super quickly.

  5. Personality traits • Histrionic, arrogant, and deceitful because he thought he was better than anyone else because of him being a god.

  6. Parents/siblings • Mercury is the son of Jupiter and Maia.

  7. Myths about Mercury and festivals • During the odyssey Mercury was to bring Jupiter’s command to Calypso’s Island to tell Odysseus to make haste and leave the island because he was wasting years of his life there. • One festival was called the “Festival of Mercury” and was celebrated in the summer.
