Question 3.1 • While a decisive majority of survey participants supported this position, some participants stated that only agencies directly impacted by a standard should participate. • SWG recommendations • All FGDC agencies should participate, if only to be aware of a project. • FGDC standards reviews are editorial reviews, which do not require a subject matter expert’s knowledge. • Abstentions on voting are allowed if a standard does not affect their business area.

  3. Question 3.2 • SWG recommendations • State impacts on business areas up front • Create awareness of FGDC standards among FGDC standards activities

  4. Question 3.3 • SWG recommendation • Standards proposals should be referred to the FGDC Coordination Group to determine if a project is within scope • Only a 14-day review period for a standards proposal is needed, and FGDC standards directives should be revised accordingly.
