  14. There are four kinds of renewal we need to experience: 1. PERSONAL RENEWAL 2. RELATIONSHIP RENEWAL 3. PURPOSE RENEWAL 4. STRUCTURAL RENEWAL

  15. Every human being has the ability to renew himself.

  16. My longevity (kahabaanngbuhay) depends on my ability on how to renew myself from within. No matter how strong I am, I still need renewal.

  17. Churches don’t grow because they fail to renew from within.

  18. Leaders get burned out and failed, because they neglected personal renewal.

  19. There’s a man of God in the Bible who is so anointed and respected but he cried out for a personal renewal. This man was David, a man after God’s own heart.

  20. No matter how anointed and spiritual you are, you need a personal renewal from God.

  21. THERE WAS A TIME IN THE LIFE OF DAVID AS IF HE WAS NOT A MAN OF GOD. HE COMMITTED A TERRIBLE MISTAKE THAT CAN COST HIM HIS THRONE AND HIS LIFE.

  22. Psalm 51 described David’s cry for personal renewal and how to obtain it.

  23. I. Psalm 51 can be summarized in three words: Guilt, Grace and Gratitude.

  24. 1) GUILT (Kasalanan)

  25. Bakitnahulogsakasalanansi David?

  26. • Carelessness – Gaanoka man ka-spiritual at ka-anointed, if you are not careful, bakakabumagsak.

  27. Psalm 51:3 – “Angpagsalansangko…lagingnasaisip at alaala” – may mgapanahongangkatiyakanngkapatawaran at angpanibagongbiyayangDiyos ay hindiagaddumarating.

  28. Angtaongnakaranasngkagalakanngkaligtasan at pagkatapos ay nahulogsamatindingkasalanan ay maaaringmakaranasngmatagalnapanahonngpagsisisi at espirituwalnapakikipaglabanbagomakatanggapnglubosnapagpapanumbaliksakagandahangloobngDiyos.

  29. Angkaranasanni David ay naghahayag kung gaanongnakatatakotangmagkasalalabansaisang banal naDiyosmataposNiyangpagpalainngmasagana.

  30. • Complacency – pagka-kampante.

  31. • No accountability (walangpananagutan). No one confronted David though halatana, na may milagrosiyangginawa.

  32. 2) GRACE (God’s undeserved favor)

  33. No matter how far you went astray from God, His grace will seek you.

  34. Vs. 12 – “Anggalaknadulotngiyongpagliligtasibalik at ako ay gawainmongtapat.”

  35. IbinalikngPanginoonangkagalakanngkaligtasanngunitpansininnatinangsumusunodtungkolsabuhayni David.

  36. 1. MalinawnaitinuturongBibliyanaaanihinnatinanganumangitinanimnatin; kung tayo’ynagtanimupangbigyanglugodang Espiritu, aanitayongbuhaymulasa Espiritu, kung tayo’ynagtanimupangbigyangkalugurananglaman, aanitayongpagkawasakmulasamakasalanangkalikasan (Gal. 6:7-8)

  37. Vs. 17 – “Anghandogko, O Diyos, nakarapat-dapat ay angpakumbaba’tpusongmapagtapat.”

  38. Hindi itataboyngDiyosangisangwasak at mapagpakumbabangpusonapunongpagsisisi.

  39. While God forgives us, however, He does not always erase the natural consequences of our sin – David’s life and family were never the same as a result of what he had done.

  40. 3) GRATITUDE (Pagpapasalamat)

  41. A person who is truly repentant and who experienced forgiveness will seek to please and serve God as an expression of gratitude.

  42. II. How to experience renewal?

  43. 1) BE HONEST Psalm 51:10 – “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

  44. The difference between David and Saul was:

  45. a. King Saul was not honest. He was removed from being king. 1 Samuel 15:3,9,20,22-23

  46. 1 Samuel 15:3 – “Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”

  47. 1 Samuel 15:9 – “But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs--everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.”

  48. 1 Samuel 15:20 – “‘But I did obey the LORD,’ Saul said. ‘I went on the mission the LORD assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought back Agag their king.’”

  49. 1 Samuel 15:22-23 – “But Samuel replied: ‘Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.’”
