  2. Avranches in general Your destination Avranches is a French town based in the department of La Manche in the region Basse–Normandy. Avranches is one of the oldest towns of the Normandy. About 8,600 residents live in and around Avranches.

  3. Day 1 - Sunday Journey In the morning you fly from Frankfurt to Paris(price per person about 120 €). At the airport you pick up your hire car (VW Golf Plus, for seven days about 225 €) and proceed to Avranches. In the afternoon you check in the Hôtel La Ramade.

  4. Hôtel La Ramade You stay in the country house Hôtel La Ramade, whichis located in the Baie du Mont Saint-Michel.   5. Day 2 - Monday Avranches In the morning you discover the city. Attend Le Jardin des Plantes, Notre Dame des Champs, Patton Place and the Castle and the Keep.

  6. Day 2 - Monday Scriptorial In the afternoon you perambulate the Scriptorial. It is a museum exhibiting the manuscripts of LeMont Saint-Michel. There you discover the various stages of the creation of a manuscript, explore ancient texts and shimmering illuminations. An astonishing journey to the heart of writing! Admission: 7 €

  7. Day 3 - Tuesday Mont Saint-Michel In the morning of the third day you go to Mont Saint-Michel. It was built in 708. The 1304 years old abbey is an important place of pilgrimage. The abbey is built on a little island in front of Avranches. Admission: 9 €

  8. Day 4 - Wednesday Saint Malo You start your day in the gorgeous medieval town of Saint Malo walking on the well preserved city wall. Later you visit the old town, where you enjoy the shops and the restaurants. In the evening you will have a great night out in Saint Malo.

  9. Day 5 - Thursday Cancale On the fifth day you visit the awesome oyster farming in the well-known oyster-town Cancale. After this interesting experience you spend the rest of the day in the nice village of Cancale. You should taste the delicious oysters in one of the beautiful restaurants.

  10. Day 6 - Friday Chausey Island On the last day of your stay you visit the wonderful Chausey Islands group. You will travel by ferry leaving from Granville seaport. The most famous attractions of Chausey are the amazing sceneries. It´s a heaven for visitors, which offers beautiful walks along the coastal landscape.

  11. Day 7 - Saturday Day of departure You drive back to the airport in Paris where you will leave the hire car. Then enjoy your flight backto Frankfurt! We hope you will have a great week in and around Avranches.
