Moths • Moths eat nectar from flowers and sap from trees. • Similarities to butterflies: they both eat nectar • Differences with butterflies: moths have wider and thicker antennae • Similarities to dragonflies: both can have large eyes • Differences with dragonflies: unlike dragonflies moths are nocturnal

Butterflies • Butterflies have large bright colored wings and drink nectar from flowers • Similarities to moths: both are caterpillers as babies • Differences with moths: moths are usually earth colors and butterflies are bright • Similarities to dragonflies: both fly • Differences with dragonflies: dragonflies have clear veiny wings

Dragonflies • Dragonflies eat mosquitos and other small insects • Similarities to butterflies: both have 6 legs • Differences with butterflies: baby butterflies are caterpillars and live on land and baby dragonflies live in water and are called larvae • Similarities to moths: both have 4 wings • Differences with moths: dragonflies have long skinny wings moths have large wide wings
