  4. Information for Developing Building Configuration and Transportation Plan Student Enrollment We need to plan for 450 students in each grade, K-6. Class Sizes Kindergarten 23 Grade 1 24 Grade 2 25 Grade 3-6 26 School Capacity of Current Elementary Schools (which will become Grade K-3 schools in the new configuration) SchoolCapacity in Regular Education Classrooms Cochran 24 (6 classes of each grade level K-3) (600 capacity) Hepburn 18 (4 classes of each grade level K-3 = 16 +2 extras) (450 capacity) Jackson 24 (6 classes of each grade level K-3) (600 capacity) *Round Hills (possible closing) 12 (3 classes of each grade level K-3) (300 capacity) *Sheridan (possible closing) 12 (3 classes of each grade level K-3) (300 capacity) *Stevens (possible closing) 18 (4 classes of each grade level K-3 = 16 + 2 extras) (450 capacity) *Note: Two schools will close. School Capacity of Current Middle Schools (which will become Grade 4-6 schools in the new configuration) SchoolCapacity in Regular Education Classrooms Curtin 27 (9 classes of each grade level 4-6) (702 capacity) Lycoming Valley 27 (9 classes of each grade level 4-6) (702 capacity)

Two Possible Configurations: We need a plan for each configuration. • Configuration #1 • Grade K-3 Schools • Cochran • Hepburn • Jackson • Round Hills • Grade 4-6 Schools • Curtin • Lycoming Valley • Configuration #2 • Grade K-3 Schools • Cochran • Hepburn • Jackson • Stevens • Grade 4-6 Schools • Curtin • Lycoming Valley

  6. CONFIGURATION 1: CLOSE SHERIDAN & STEVENS

Parameters: • Sheridan students attend Cochran • Major Changes to Current Boundaries • Some Cochran and Stevens to Jackson • Some Stevens to Hepburn-Lycoming • Some Jackson to Round Hills • Buses are available for special needs students • School Choice not considered • No transportation within the established walk boundary – 1.5 miles (PDE) • No transportation to babysitter stops outside the school boundary
