  5. THE REQUIREMENT(and the math) • 318 hours minimum • 1 credit reduced for every 106 hrs • Maximum 6 credit reduction (636 hours) • 3-6 credit hours reduction NOTE: 30 credits must be in HBHE courses regardless of credit reduction (24 credits for students in the 48 credit program)

  6. THE REQUIREMENT(the written products) • Abstract • Paper (3-5 pages) • Poster • Field Supervisor Evaluation • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  7. WHAT ARE LEARNING OBJECTIVES? • Focus for Experience • Defines Developmental Purpose • Statement of Expectations • Link to Professional Goals

  8. Field Experience Purpose • Learn how to apply theory and principles to the realities of the work situation • Develop and expand professional skills

  9. HOW TO WRITE OBJECTIVES • Select 1-3 Competencies (pgs. 24-27) • Select Relevant Knowledge & Skills for each 1Competency • Write Specific Behaviors/Tasks/Activities Related to the Knowledge & Skills

EXAMPLE Competency: Ability to plan for presenting information to adolescents Knowledge/Skills: Adapt existing curriculum and plan class periods • Select activities appropriate to specific groups of learners • Tailor activities in response to the interests and climate of the group • Plan logistics
