Holbein Dürer German Art One of the most influential painters of the northern Renaissance was Albrecht Dürer, who revolutionized the use of perspective and was held in high regard by his peers in Italy. Dürer worked with various mediums, including wood, paint, copper and iron. Hans Holbein, also an artist during the northern Renaissance, illustrated the satirical works of well- known humanist Erasmus, as well as having helped with Luther’s translation of the Bible. Holbein was also present at the court of Henry VIII and painted many portraits there.
