  6. OBJECTIVES By the end of this project student will be able to: Work co-operatively in small group. Group plan of plants growth by completing plant lab activities. Work like scientists to plan, conduct, analyze and report the results of discrete experiments. Use research skills to become experts when deliveringinterviews and oralpresentation. Collaborate with peers to write articles that effectively communicate information and ideas Synthesize information from various resources to teach others about the concept. Create publication and wiki that summarize findings. Use a variety of electronic and print resources together and synthesize information to create and communicate knowledge to the specific audience.

  7. UNIT SAMMARY This project “GERMS“ is based on protection of health. The primary students learn about the health cure, visit to a hospital and laboratory, make publication, banners, posters, paintings and drawings on this topic. Search pictures, videos, stories, games accordingly. Conduct seminar and generate wiki. Students should play roles of painters, researcher, problem solver, environmentalist and social worker.

  9. PROJECT TIME LINE SIX MONTHS(AUGUST 2011 TO JANUARY 2012) , one day per month( 7 period per day,40 minute per period) , plus time for individuals and small groups to work on computers .

  10. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES DAY 1 Begin the unit by posting the Unit Question , is How germs are dangerous for us? And How do we protect from germs? And wht should you do to stay healthy? Elicit students’ initial responses and have them record their thoughts in their assessment sheet .Teacher assess the students by discussion and distribute publication among students for the awareness of beauty of earth. Teacher show publication and distribute among students .show presentation to the students .Teacher assess the students by discussion check list.

  11. Day 2 To help students understand the importance of health in a concrete way, involve them in a variety of hands-on experiences working. For survey teacher provide survey sheet to all students having checklist in which students assess those who are interested in washing hands and who are not? After completion data of survey students filter all the information by making graphs in their survey sheets. Teacher assesses the students by problem solving check list.

  12. Day 3 Students Visit to the hospital. Complete the questionnaireprovided by the teacher in which different questions are mentioned according to the topic. Students fully observe the patients . They also see and observe how many germs and diseases are involved in handling with care? At last they see the results of students. Teacher assesses the students by critical thinking check list.

  13. DAY 4 Draw some beautiful charts and diagrams of germs. By the completion of data. Teacher assess given task to the students by creative checklist.

  14. DAY 5 Arrange a seminar in school auditorium and invite school principal, administrator, children, and their parents in your school .Head of department of science represent the details, benefits and importance of healthy diet by oral presentation .By the compilation of data Teacher assess the students by oral presentation checklist .Include thematic decorations and snacks to create a festive occasion.

  15. DAY 6 After meeting with the above representatives, revisit the Unit Question , how do we become healthy? Take out the Know-Wonder-Learn survey sheet created at the beginning of the school year from your teacher and move again for the survey to observe how many students take interest in washing hands. Make a graph of this survey and compare the results with the previous one. By the compilation of data teacher assess the students by Analysis check list. On the last day of your project, remind students that this year they focused on the Essential Question , How do you stay healthy. Keep your observation for rest of the session?

  16. PREQUSITE SKILLS CONCEPTUAL KNOWLEDGE Basic knowledge of importance of health. Technical knowledge Knowledge of internet research. Basic word processing. Creative skills.

  17. SOCIAL IMPACT OF PROJECT After this project students fully aware with importance of health and they will become a healthy person in society. They also know about staying healthy . They learn computer skills also.
