  5. InLine OnLine? • A web application that allows the public to go online and make an appointment to see an Examiner. • Use of the system shortens wait times which helps those that can make an appointment and those that cannot. • DPS is aware that there will always be walk ins.

  6. Benefits to the Public • Customers now know how long they will be at a DPS office. • Customers can see available appointment times for all locations and see walk in wait times of each location. • This is the first step to shorter wait times, in the future you can fill out your application online and not wait for an examiner to enter the data.

  7. Who is next in line? • The next phase is the queuing system to help keep the first in first out rule. • This system accounts and adjusts for employees taking breaks and lunches. • The system automatically knows who is next to be waited on so the employees don’t have to worry about who is next. • There is the ability to move someone to the front of the line as needed.

  8. Phases and Status • Phase 1-Completed • Offered all regular services except drive test. • Phase 2-In 3 locations • Non CDL Drive Test-launched Monday Oct. 7th at the Edmond and I-240 locations & Wednesday Oct 9th in Tulsa • Phase 3-Statement of Work is being written • Queuing System-soon to be added and launched • This will ensure that walk in and appointments will be waited on in the proper order. As we increase volume it becomes necessary to have a queuing system • Check in with your smart phone or your printed QR code • Phase 5

  9. Future Phases Rhonda Larson ~ Process & Systems Integration Manager

  10. Phase 4 • Phase 4 • Online Application • Hearing Officer Appointments • Adding the ability to make an appointment to see a DPS Hearing Officer • Now if you make an appointment for an Examiner and find out you need to see a Hearing Officer DPS can move you to that part of the scheduler and get in the Queue or vice versa if you make an appointment with a Hearing Officer and now need to see an Examiner.

  11. For Your Information • Queuing will add smart phone or QR code check in system. In future phases this will be the mechanism to auto populate the screens of the examiners. This will cut down on wait times as well. • RWD (Responsive Web Design) an approach to web design in which a site is crafted to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).

  12. Online Projects Coming Soon • Motor Vehicle Reports • Collisions • Driver License Application • Interface for Designated Examiners • Knowledge Test at DPS Kiosk and Online • Reinstatements • Practice Tests • Renew/Replace License • Handicap Placards Available now • Update Address Online • Renew license by mail (only if out of the state or country) • Commercial Motor Carrier Monitor of their Drivers • InLine OnLine • E-mail Reminder to renew license
