Common Career Technical Core (CCTC) • Standards in career readiness, career clusters and career pathways • Introduced in June 2012 • Collaborative effort of educators and business/industry reps from 46 states • Intended to align and support the Common Core State Standards • Currently Kansas has CTE course competencies only • Gap alignment study - completed by fall 2013 • Convening educator and business/industry focus groups to analyze gap alignment results

Career Pathways Assessment System (cPass) • Authentic end-of-pathway assessments in CTE • Assessing academic, technical, and employability knowledge and skills • Computer-based and performance-based assessment format • Consortium project (KS, CO, MS) • Piloting began fall 2012 and will conclude spring 2014 • cPass assessments are scheduled to be operational for 2014-2015 • Utilizing KITE system for accessing computer-based assessment

  6. Comprehensive Agriculture Assessment

Comp Ag Assessment • Pilot test window – March 25 – April 21, 2013 • 11 schools, approx. 800 students • Assessment covers 8 Ag Pathways: Agribusiness Systems, Animal Systems, Biotechnology in Ag, Environmental Service Systems, Food Products & Processing Systems, Natural Resource Systems, Plant Systems, and Power, Structural & Technical Systems.

  8. Upcoming Ag Assessments • Animal Systems Pilot assessment starts April 22 – May 17, 2013 • Plant Systems will be piloted in Spring 2014. • All assessments will have hands-on component called CCQ – Career Competency Qualifications. These are in development stage and plan to pilot in Spring 2014.
