Our Network • Members have concrete plans to demonstrate operation of the full CCS value chain: • by end of 2015 • on a minimum power plant capacity of 250 MW, or equivalent industrial output (500 kt avoided CO2 emissions per year) • with at least 85% capture rate of the treated flue gas stream Supporting first movers 26 May2011

Public engagement 2010: methodologies • National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) best practice guide for Public Outreach and Education for Carbon Storage Projects (Dec 2009) • Integrate Public Outreach into Project management • Establish a strong outreach team • Identify key stakeholders • Conduct and apply social characterisation • Develop an outreach strategy and communication plan • Develop key messages • Develop outreach material tailored to audience • Actively oversee the outreach throughout the life of the CO2 storage project • Monitor the performance of the programme and changes in public perceptions and concerns • Be flexible, refine the outreach 26 May2011
