  5. Icon An Icon is a small picture of a program • It is found on the DESKTOP • Different pictures for different programs, files and folders • Always DOUBLE CLICK the ICON Internet Explorer My Computer Mozilla Firefox Recycle Bin

  8. After turning on a computer, what is the first thing that appears on the screen? What can you find on a desktop? How many times should an icon be clicked?

  9. Taskbar • Start Button • Time and Date • Running Programs • Icons • Show Desktop Button

  10. Taskbar View Viewing a list of all windows that are open • When multiple windows are open in a program, the icon will look "stacked" on the Taskbar • View all opened programs at the same time • Close individual programs without opening a window
