Permethrin The visible nits are consistent with pubic pediculosis. The recommended treatments include permethrin or pyrethrin lotions. Alternative regimens to treat lice include topical malathion or oral ivermectin. Patients with pediculosis pubis should be evaluated for other sexually transmitted diseases.
