  1. Class Procedures and Expectations Mrs. Walker English

  2. Entering the Room • When you come in to start class, please make sure you have all of your supplies ready to go. • Have a seat and get started on your warm-up or blog entry IMMEDIATELY! • If you were absent, go ahead and check the front of the room for your makeup work. • You should be in your seat, ready to start class when the tardy bell rings. →

  3. Tardies • If you are not in the classroom BEFORE the bell rings, then you will need to go get a tardy pass. • There are no exceptions to this rule. • If you are walking down the hall and the bell rings, go straight to your AP, not to class to put down your things and then to your AP. →

  4. Homework • Homework is due the very next class period unless otherwise specified. • It should be completed and ready to turn in when you enter the room. • At the tardy bell, I will give a “last call” for homework. All assignments are due then or they will be considered late. Daily grades can not be made up. →

  5. Tutoring • You are encouraged to take full advantage of tutoring. • Tutoring schedule: Tuesday/Thursday 2:30-3:15. • Please let me know when you are coming. • Other arrangements can be made if you let me know. (ie.; morning, other days)

  6. Restroom Passes • You will get two restroom/water passes per six weeks. • Use them or lose them, they are good for nothing else in this class. • No pass, No go. • You may earn extra passes at my discretion. Example may include: (entire class is wearing ID, or has HW)

  7. Missing Assignment Sheet • This is a half page with a chicken on it.  • Fill this out for any assignment that you are not going to be turning in the day it is due. • This is just so we have a record. • It does NOT excuse the zero you will be earning on the missing assignment.

  8. Make-up Work • You may pick up your work on the front table. “We Missed You” pages; look for your HIGHLIGHTED name and pick up that packet. Depending on the day(s) missed, you may have more than 1 packet. • DO NOT ask me about your make-up work during class time.

  9. Tips for Infinite Campus • If you are absent and we complete a grade that is entered that class, I will put an M for missing, which means that you will have a chance to turn it in when you come back according to the absence policy. • If you choose not to complete an assignment or do not turn in a daily assignment you will receive a 0 (zero). This can not be made up at all.

  10. Expectations: • You are to respect everyone. This includes your classmates, myself, visitors, and substitutes. • Be on time. • Be Prepared. • Be Polite.

  11. Consequences • First Offense: Conversation with student and possible parent/ AP notification • Second Offense: Parent/AP contact and office referral • (I will always discuss your behavior with you first. You are a young adult and I respect you enough to speak with you about what I’m seeing in class.)
