  3. Public Transportation is vital to Butte-Silver Bow… • Access to jobs, school, medical facilities, shopping, and recreation • Part of a multi-modal network that can enhance livability

  5. BSBT compares well to other Montana systems

  6. Issues identified • Improve on-time performance • Later service and more weekend service desired • Respect and understand needs of people with disabilities • Energize system with improved marketing and coordination • Options constrained by budget

  7. Five Year Goals • Increase ridership and community support for BSBT • Maximize coordination to benefit riders • Practice sound financial management

  8. Short Term Objectives • Designated stops with signs, schedules • Adjust schedules to improve on-time performance • Adjust routes to better serve traveling public needs • Hire a mobility manager to focus on rider needs and coordination • Consider creating an Urban Transportation District

  10. Proposed Routing Changes • Goal – adjust service to demand within budget • Consider suggestions as starting point • Needs to be timed and refined in winter conditions after completion of Harrison Avenue construction
