GreenWEEE International • GreenWEEEInternational is an integrated treatment plant for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). • It is the first integrated unit in Romania which offers WEEE treatment and recycling services following the European environment standards (in conformity with art. 6 of European directive no. 2002/96/EC). • The factory has a total area of 14,795 m², of which 6,100 m² is the production area, and has over 150 employees.

GreenWEEE International • The state of the art technology ensures a reuse and recovery of materials bigger than 95% and also a correct treatment of hazardous substances, eliminating any danger of environment pollution. • Since 2009 GreenWEEE managed to conserve 600,000 to of CO2, only from proper recycling of Fridges, Monitors and TVs.

GreenWEEE International Technical equipment: GreenWEEE operates in separate treatment lines as follow: • Air conditioners, cooling devices • Small and large household appliances, IT and telecommunications equipment • Printed circuit boards, cables and conductors • Cathode tubes from monitors and TV sets • WEEE disassembling • Batteries • Fluorescent lamps(GreenlampReciclare) • Compact lamps (GreenlampReciclare) • HID lamp (designed for high intensity discharge lamps (HID) (GreenlampRecicalre) • Superior Distiller (GreenlampReciclare)

GreenWEEE International Environmental, health and safety requirements Company has a system of integrated management, OHSAS Quality Environment. • ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for the quality management of businesses. • ISO 14001 is the standard of the ISO 14000 family of standards. • OHSAS 18001 is the international standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

  7. WEEELABEX pilot audit • The pilot audit took place on 29th of March, 2012 in GreenWEEE plant from Buzau. There were 26 auditors.

WEEELABEX pilot audit • Creating same rules for WEEE treatment allover Europe • Makes the difference between high standard and substandard treatment • Importance • GWE opinions • Audit team: 3 members • Duration of audit: 2 days • Prior to the audit, the recycler should be very well informed about the purpose, duration and the program, of the audit. • Feedback form the auditors and if there were found nonconformities, to establish together a plan of improving it. The time allowed for improvement should be short and in no way to be longer than the next audit done by WEEE Forum.
