  2. Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the Mental Health testing package. Originally released 2002 Provides secure computer environment for patient administered testing Only VistA application currently available that stores survey/self report information as data 2,498,520 assessments using MHA instruments completed in FY06

  3. Enhancements, restructuring of associated files, MHA3 Completing beta testing at 4 test sites Significantly strengthens ties to clinical reminders, CPRS Passes progress note to CPRS Creates national testing database

  4. MHA3 and Clinical Reminders • Clinical Reminders will work with all MHA3 instruments • Instrument results, scale scores, or individual item responses from MHA instruments can be used in reminder logic

  5. MHA3 and Clinical Reminders • What percentage of patients in PTSD program present with binge drinking patterns? • What is the severity of depression seen in patients enrolled in the pain clinic? • How many patients over the age of 65 endorsed suicidal ideation on depression screen?

My Healthe VetMental Health Portal • Goal: Promote active participation of veterans with mental illness in their health care • 3 Major Components in Project: 1)Education and Resource Information for Veterans/Family members/Care Givers 2)Self-Assessment screening tools tied to online educational information 3)Recovery management/self monitoring for patients currently involved in mental health treatment

Phase 1: Information & Education Goal: To provide current information to veterans and family members on health, wellness and recovery in a comprehensive but easy to understand web based format as it relates to: • Common mental health disorders • Successfully coping with psycho-social stressors • Partnering with health care providers • Taking responsibility for ones own recovery Working with Healthwise to create content library PTSD Materials to be included in My Healthe Vet Memorial Day Release

  8. Screening Instruments (Phase 2) • Screening for common MH issues: • PTSD • Depression • SUD • Accessible at top level • No results stored, feedback directly to user • Currently deployed

My Recovery Plan(Phase 3) An online component of My HealtheVet that will help veterans seeking treatment: • Take an active, collaborative role in their treatment • Take increased responsibility for monitoring and tracking: • the type and degree of mental health symptoms, • medication adherence and side effects, • progress towards recovery goals, • as well as relapse triggers & coping plans. 

  11. My Recovery Plan Activities Current Year Funding • Contract for application design for My Recovery Plan • 4 existing workgroups, Depression, SUD, Schizophrenia, PTSD • Technical contractors meeting with workgroups to map current care processes and desired processes for MRP
